Redemption Christian Church will officially launch its Tell City Campus with worship gatherings at 9 and 10:30 a.m. CST.

The campus, at 3515 Mozart St., is located in the former Tell City Junior High School building. Redemption purchased the building in October 2021 and work to refresh the space began in June.

Redemption Christian Church became a multi-site church with the launch of its Loogootee Campus in December 2016. The church has been planning a Tell City Campus — though delayed by the pandemic — for more than three years.

Worship gatherings will be reflect Redemption’s Jasper and Loogootee campuses with live music worship, communion, a sermon (a video stream originating from the Jasper campus from Redemption ministers), as well as children’s gatherings for students up to sixth grade — Redemption Kids — and nursery for infants and toddlers. Plans are also in place for Redemption Students, seventh to twelfth grades, to begin official gatherings in the coming months.

On Nov. 13, Redemption will begin a new sermon series at all campuses, focusing on one of the church’s core beliefs, called “Wreck The Roof.”

“We couldn’t be more thrilled about the opening of this campus. We cannot wait to be present in Perry County — and beyond — to see what God is going to do,” Redemption Senior Minister Darrel Land said.

Tell City Campus Minister Corey Andry concurred. “We are beyond excited to see our campus launch in Tell City and partner with God in sharing His good news here. This is years of work finally coming to fruition and, by the grace of God, it will be decades of light shown to our community,” he said.

Redemption Christian Church began with 12 people as Christian Church of Jasper in May 2000, meeting in a Days Inn meeting room before moving to Jasper 8 Theaters from summer 2000 to 2001. The church moved to an industrial warehouse on Cathy Lane in Jasper from August 2001 to January 2007. In February 2007, the church opened the doors to its current Jasper Campus on the south side of the town — eventually expanding into a larger worship space in late 2014. In December 2016, Redemption’s Loogootee Campus held its first worship gathering in the former Pamida building on the south side of Loogootee. With the opening of the Tell City location, the church remains committed to being one church in multiple locations and continuing to fulfill its mission to love God, love people, and change the world by making disciples of Jesus Christ in southern Indiana and around the world.
