Richard “Speedy” Allen Middleton I, age 72, of Grandview passed away peacefully at The Waters of Rockport on Monday, May 20, 2024.
He was born to Clay and Fannie (Rudisill) Middleton, in Hatfield April 18, 1952.
Richard was a laborer, and welder by trade and retired from Corn Island Shipyard after 20 plus years of service.
Richard enjoyed the outdoors, and you would find him close to the Ohio River, or a bank somewhere with a fishing pole in his hand during the summer time, and in a blind or tree stand in the spring, fall and winter months hunting everything from deer and turkey to coyotes.
Richard is survived by his son Brad (Shannon) Middleton of Grandview; grandchildren Tyler Sias, Myah Middleton, Alyssa Middleton, Grace Middleton, Ashton Middleton and Wyatte Madden; his siblings, sister Barbra Ryan of Rockport and brothers Mike (Patty) Middleton of Grandview and Clay (Alice) Middleton of Rockport, along with many nieces and nephews.
Richard was proceeded in death by his wife, Becky Middleton, and son Richard Middleton II, his parents, along with his brothers Jimmy Middleton, Clayton Middleton, and sisters Sara Epley and Peggy West.
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday, May 23, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Pastor Carl Jones officiating.
Visitation is from 12 until 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
