Rockport Elementary held its annual walkathon Friday, sending students on a two-mile journey from the school to the Bluffs and back again. The sunny sojourn served as a fundraiser for the school, with the added bonus of letting kids break eggs on Principal Rick Hunt if they met their $8,000 goal. As of Friday afternoon, Hunt (bedecked in a chicken hat and dancing appropriately along the route) was confident he would be on the receiving end of some eggs in the future.

Groups of students of all ages spent the sunny Friday walking a two-mile loop from the school to the Rockport Bluffs and back to raise money for their school.

Principal Rick Hunt adorned a chicken hat and danced the chicken dance as students walked by laughing and smiling. Hunt promised the students that they could break eggs on him if they met their $8,000 goal.

The students were joined along the route by Safety Pup, who gave them high-fives and fist bumps as they continued along their journey.
