Ronald J. “Ron” Kluesner, 78, of Jasper, passed away at 5:38 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at home surrounded by family.

Ron was born January 18, 1943, in Celestine to Bernard and Theresia (Schroering) Kluesner.

The owner of Kluesner Construction, he worked as a mason his whole life, completing several area masonry projects including Holy Family Church, several area schools, the Jasper Old National Bank building, Eastland Mall, and numerous custom homes.  

He was a lifetime member of the Celestine Community Club.  

He enjoyed mushroom, squirrel, rabbit and turtle hunting, gardening, playing cards, visiting the casino and horse track, and spending time with friends and family, especially playing cards with his grandchildren. 

Surviving are four daughters, Mary Alles (fiancé Kevin Leistner), Debbie Beckman (Brian), Michelle Kieffner (Scott), and Angie Mitchell (Rodney), all of Jasper; three sons, Tony Kluesner (Lynne), Martinsville, Brian Kluesner (Raquel Faulkenberg), Santa Claus, and Keith Kluesner (Angela), Dubois; 24 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bernice Knies, Celestine and Yvonne Luebbehusen, St. Henry; one brother, Arnold Kluesner (Alice), Jasper; one daughter-in-law, Lisa Schroering; and nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death was one son, Terry Kluesner; one grandson, Benton Kluesner; three sisters, Neoma Sander, Verena Egenolf and Adeline Fleck, and another sister, Norma Jean Kluesner who died in infancy.

A Mass of Christian burial for Ronald J. “Ron” Kluesner will be held at 2 p.m. EDT on Friday, July 2, at St. Celestine Catholic Church in Celestine, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

A visitation will be held from noon until the 2 p.m. Mass time at the church on Friday.
