Sharon Lee Herrell of Rockport, passed away July 28, 2026, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, surrounded by her family.

Sharon was born June 18, 1942, to Bill Krantz and Virginia McReynolds (Stambush) in Warrick County.

Sharon was very family oriented and loved not only her blood family but those whom she adopted throughout the years. She enjoyed taking care of them and cooking for them, the joy of her life was her grand babies.  

Sharon met and married the love of her life Dennis, and they spent 63+ years together.  During their time together they both shared a love of being in and around the lodge. During that time Sharon was a 55+ years member of the Eastern Star. During her time in the Eastern Star, she was the District Deputy for the Grand Chapter Order of Eastern Star of Indiana, and she was also the First Lady of Free Masonry in 2005-2006.  

Sharon was employed at Miles Farm supply in the office for many years and served as a substitute teacher for South Spencer School Corporation for many years as well.

Sharon was a member of Hatfield United Methodist Church and Bethany General Baptist Church.

Sharon was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dennis T. Herrell, sons Donald K. Herrell and Brain S. Herrell.

Sharon is survived by her grandchildren, Brandon Parks, Janaye Floyd (Harold), Mason Herrell (Marissa), Jasmine Valentine, Jaeden Valentine, Jocelyn Valentine, Joshua Valentine and Jacey Valentine; great-grandchildren Kaydence, Aiden, Khloe, Hunter, Zoey, Oakley, Caizer, Kynzie, Hazeleigh, Kash and Hudson; daughter-in-law Kimberly Valentine; brother Ronnie Krantz, sisters-in-law Anna Joyce Meece and Bettye June Weatherholt, with many other nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Visitation for Sharon will be held at Boultinghouse Funeral Home, 527 Main Street Rockport, IN 47635 on August 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. An Eastern Star service will begin at 1:30 p.m. with funeral services starting at 2 p.m. with Pastor Steve Buse officiating.  Burial will take place at Ebenezer Cemetery, Hatfield.
