Show and Till: FFA students take tractors to school

It was a beautiful Wednesday morning and afternoon for a tractor ride last week, which was good news for local Future Farmers of America students participating in Ride Your Tractor to School Day. Observed by rural high schools across the Midwest, this event is the culmination of National Future Farmers of America Week, which takes place every February. In past years students have had to brave bitter cold and adverse weather on these sojourns, some of them astride older workhorses without an enclosed cabin. Fair weather last Wednesday kept the shine on the trip’s novelty this year. The tractors made for quite a spectacle in the parking lots as well, especially when they joined their fellow students on the road to greet the rest of their day after school.
