Three vehicle collision
Three vehicles were involved in a rear-end collision on SR 66 near Rockport the morning of June 3. Dwayne Detzer, 57, of Chrisney, had stopped while attempting to turn right onto CR 350 W. As the driver behind him — 48-year-old Kevin Weaver of Grandview — also slowed down for Detzer to make his turn, Weaver’s 2017 Toyota Camry was struck from behind by a 2008 Mazda driven by 20-year-old Jase Otto of Tell City. The impact pushed Weaver’s vehicle into the back of Detzer’s 2013 Ram 1500. Otto later told authorities he did not notice that Weaver had slowed down. No one was injured in the collision, but total damages were estimated between $10,000-25,000.
Matthew Rahm, 30, of Boonville, was westbound on CR 900 N when a 2009 Pontiac G6 driven by 49-year-old Franklin Arthur, Jr. entered his path of travel and struck his 2012 Dodge Ram pick-up. The impact caused Rahm to lose control of his vehicle, which then ran off the roadway and into a ditch. Arthur later told authorities he did not see Rahm’s truck as he entered the intersection. Neither driver was injured in the June 5, 11:50 a.m. collision, but total damages were estimated between $5,000-10,000.
