Members of the Evansville Chapter of the American Guild of Organists will present a free concert on Saturday, October 26, at 3 p.m. Central Time at Saint Meinrad Archabbey Church, St. Meinrad. Organists Neal Biggers, Rachel Luttrull, Nikolai Peek and Robert Nicholls will perform compositions by Vierne, Pachelbel, Buxtehude, Marchand, Bach, Briggs, Cochereau and other composers. Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden’s annual Boo at the Zoo will be held this weekend, October 25-27. The event features family-friendly Halloween fun with live entertainment, trick-or-treating, storytelling, animal encounters, costume prizes and more. Zion’s United Church of Christ, located at 23 South College Street in Chrisney, will hold its annual fall bazaar from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. this Saturday, October 26. Soup, sandwiches, pies and ice cream will be available. There will also be baked goods and crafts at the country store. The public is invited to attend.
Richland Christian Church will be hold its annual Trunk-N-Treat on Thursday, October 31 from 6-8 p.m. The event will include inflatables, hayrides, face painting, door prizes, games and, of course, candy. For the safety of children, no one over the age of 12 will be allowed to enter with a mask on and candy will be given by authorized people only. The event will be held inside if raining and will be rescheduled in case of severe storm warnings. Free hot dogs, chips and drinks will be available. A free will offering will be accepted for the Christian Resource Center.
St. James Lutheran Church in Holland will hold its annual Thanksgiving supper on Saturday, November 2. Serving begins at 4 p.m. and is buffet style for dine-in or carry-out. The meal will include turkey, ham, homemade dumplings, as well as side dishes, salads and desserts. Adult dinners are $10 and meals for children 12 and under are $4. A “Goodie Shoppe” with baked goods will also be set up during the supper.
St. Martin Of Tours Church, Siberia, will hold a Ham Shoot on Sunday, November 3, beginning at 10 a.m. CDT. There will be a ham shoot, spatter boards, bingo, raffle, country store, and plenty to eat. Health and wellness
Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center is offering a Heartsaver CPR class from 5:30–9:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 7 in the Health and Wellness Classroom at Memorial Southside Office, 1100 West 12th Avenue in Jasper. This American Heart Association course is designed for lay personnel who serve as rescuers as part of their job responsibilities and for the general public who have direct access to an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Skills taught include CPR, AED use, and relief of choking in adults, children and infants. In order to complete the course and receive the course completion card, participants must successfully complete a skills evaluation. Pre-registration is required. The fee for the course is $65, and the class does require prepayment. Generations, Area 13 Agency on Aging & Disability, will host a Caregiver Connection event on November 14 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Green Activities Center on the campus of Vincennes University. This is a day designed specifically for family caregivers (or those who care for friends, neighbors, etc) of those with Alzheimer’s. Keynote speaker will be author Deborah Day Laxson. The Alzheimer’s Association will provide caregiving information, and CICOA Aging and In-Home Solutions will speak on a new Indiana initiative – Dementia Friends Indiana. Spencer County Council on Aging provides a SWIRCA meal at 11:30 a.m. Monday-Thursday in the Lincoln Manor Community Room, 714 Sycamore St., Rockport. Suggested donation is $3.50 for those 60 and older. Food stamps are accepted. Reservations must be called in 24 hours in advance at 812-649-9828. The meal site is closed on Fridays. • The Dale Friends of LHPL Fall Used Book Sale is being held now through Saturday, October 26 during regular library hours. A wide variety of books, books on CD, VHS tapes and DVDs will be available for purchase at low prices. All proceeds help fund programs and activities at the library.
• All military veterans are welcome to Veterans Coffee Hour on Monday, October 28 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Lynn Lefgren with the Veteran History Project will be present to do recorded interviews with interested veterans that will be submitted to the Library of Congress. Veterans can also simply free cookies and coffee during this time.
• Senior Social Hour will be held Monday, October 28 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Patrons 50 and older are invited to a free hour of coloring, crosswords, jigsaw and refreshments.

Many items at the silent auction make great Christmas gifts. All proceeds will go toward the Chrisney branch’s children’s area and programming.
• Chrisney Library’s third annual Treats on the Trail will be held Friday, October 25 from 3:30-6 p.m. Stop by the library anytime during this time for free food (hot dogs, chips and water). Patrons of all ages are welcome at this free event. Rain location will be at Chrisney Elementary.
