James Clayton “Jim” West, 85, of Richland, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at his home.
He was born in Hatfield, on June 12, 1935, to the late Charles M. “Hank” and Oletta (Lampkins) West.
He was a barber in Richland for 11 years. He also worked for the Indiana Department of Transportation as a project supervisor for 32 years, retiring in 2002.
Jim was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and of Richland Masonic Lodge 702 for over 60 years, where he was also a past master.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Bettye West; his son, Tracy West and his wife, Mindy, of Richland; his grandson, Luke Suter and his wife, Steffannie, of Rockport; his great-grandchildren, RheaLynn and Kenzlee; his sister, Sonja Morrison, and her husband, Bill; and his niece, Holly Morrison.
Services for James Clayton “Jim” West will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Pastor Tom Duvall officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Richland.
Visitation is from 3 until 7 p.m. on Friday, December 4, at the funeral home, with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m., and from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
