Basil Roland Cook, 84, of Richland, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.
Basil was born on January 28, 1940, to Iven and Etta Cook. He married Eleanor Spurlock on June 13, 1964.
Basil served in the Army Reserves for six years. He worked in maintenance at Alcoa Warrick Works for 41 years.
In retirement, he enjoyed working puzzles and was talented in repairing many different things.
Basil was preceded in death by his parents, Iven and Etta Cook, a sister, Evelyn Perry, and a nephew, Douglas Roosevelt.
Basil is survived by his wife of 59 years, Eleanor; his son, Bryan Cook; his grandson, Keith Cook; his great-grandsons, Kedrick and Kaden Cook; and two nephews, Greg and Rodney Roosevelt.
Per Basil’s request, his services will be private. Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport has been entrusted with care.
