Georgie J. Parsley, age 88, passed away March 23, 2026 at The Waters of Rockport in Rockport, surrounded by family.
Georgie was born May 17, 1937, in Richland, to Cyrus Winfield (Rip) and Fay Tullis VanWinkle.
She met and married Louis Parsley, and they were married for many years. Georgie loved to sew, and she was a great cook especially when it came to her cinnamon rolls. She supported CASA of Spencer County with a years supply of cinnamon rolls for the annual auction.
Georgie was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she was an active member and part of Pricilla’s Circle.
In addition to her parents, Georgie was preceded in death by her husband Louis Parsley, her siblings Harold VanWinkle (Clara), Genevieve Sayer (Bruce), Lucille “Tootie” Boyd (J.C.), Nelda Hart (Raleigh), Ellen Gayle VanWinkle, Richard “Buddy” VanWinkle and Mary Lou Martin.
Survivors include her children Frank Parsley (Marlene), Laura Hayford (Tracy) and Elizabeth Parsley, grandchildren Tony Parsley, Nick Hayford (Hannah), Adam Hayford (Michelle), Logan Hayford (Lauren) and Melanie Webb (Garrett), great-grandchildren Charlotte Hayford, Everleigh Hayford, Griffin Webb, Harper Hayford, Pheonix Webb and Henry Hayford, sister-in-law Marry Hill, with many other nieces nephews and extended family.
Services for Georgie were held March 31, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport with Pastor Larry VanCamp officiating. Burial followed at Shiloh Cemetery in Patronville.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Waters of Rockport and St. Croix Hospice for the care that they have given.
