Carolyn Sue Polen, 82, of Chrisney, passed away on May 22, 2022.
She was born in Tell City on July 3, 1939, daughter of Audrey (Wilgus) Hess.
Carolyn had worked as a nurse’s aide at Gentle Care in Huntingburg and Core Nursing and Rehab in Dale. She enjoyed reading, word puzzles, playing cards and she rarely missed an episode of Walker, Texas Ranger.
Surviving are her children, Karen Roehrig (Mark) of Floral City, FL, Butch Poehlein of Gentryville, Tim Poehlein (Denise) of Holland, Vicki Cockrum (Dan) of Chrisney, Cliff Poehlein (Chris) of Gentryville, Keith Poehlein (Amy) of Gentryville and Greg Poehlein of Chrisney; sisters, Ruth Miller (Jerry) of Spring Grove, IL and Janice James (Marvin) of Henryville; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her mother; a son, Rick Poehlein; a sister, Becky Holden; and brothers, Doug and Chet Hess.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Pastor Christena Poehlein will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Chrisney. Visitation will be held Thursday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the funeral home.
