Frank Crews 86, of Gentryville, died on Saturday August 22, 2020, at Transcendent Healthcare in Boonville.
Frank was born December 1, 1932, in Pigeon Switch, Indiana to Abner and Aria (Thurman) Crews. He played baseball in the NY Giants farm league and for many years with the Gentryville Pirates. Frank also served in the US Army, was a longtime brick mason and retired from Alcoa in 1994.
Frank was also a lifelong member of Gentryville United Methodist Church, and a 50 year member and Past Master in Gentryville Lodge No. 424 F. & A.M.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lowell in infancy, and Fred Crews; and sisters June Crews and Marta (Harold) Simpson.
He is survived by his wife, Carrie Mae (Webb) Crews; daughters Mona (John Doan) Krieble and Sherri (Bob) Meeks, and a sister in Law Patricia Crews; grandchildren, Amanda (Samara) Elliot, Brian Krieble, Emily Rothhaar, Angie Meeks and Robin Tretter; eight great-grandchildren and eight great-grea-grandchildren.
Friends may call on Saturday, August 29 from 11 a.m. CDT until 1 p.m. at Gentryville United Methodist Church.
A Masonic Memorial will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. CDT at the Church, with the Memorial Service following.
Due to the pandemic, social distancing will be observed and masks required.
