Marilyn Howard, 86, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021.
Marilyn was born in Danville, Illinois on December 29, 1934, to the late Arthur and Esta Bryant.
She graduated from the University of Evansville, Indiana University, Florida Atlantic University, and Deland University with graduate degrees. She taught art at Cannelton School and North Spencer schools in Indiana, and schools in Texas and Florida. She was a high school counselor in Florida. She championed for the rights of physically challenged and ministered to hospice patients.
Her love of family, friends, and being a member of the First United Methodist Church in St. Petersburg, Florida led to many volunteer opportunities.
Besides her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Bryant.
She is survived by her daughter, Beth Schue (Jerry) of Santa Claus and son, Jeff Varner (Jane) of Cannelton; four granddaughters, 11 grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis Watson of New Albany.
