Mary Jo Kinder of Rockport passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, February 2, 2026 at St Vincent Hospital in Evansville.
Mary Jo was born March 12, 1957, to James and Iona (Romershausen) Dossett in Mount Carmel.
Mary Jo was a lifelong member of Owensboro Gospel Kingdom Church in Owensboro, Kentucky, and loved to serve the Lord. Mary Jo enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and making food and crafts at Christmas time. She was a seamstress and enjoyed watching Youtube channels of all kinds. She loved to travel, and to read; she would read every book she could get her hands on. Mary Jo had a deep love for the Lord that flowed over into a deep love for her family, and she will be deeply missed.
Mary Jo is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jack Dossett, James Dossett; her sister, Monzelle Bullington.
Mary Jo is survived by her husband, John Kinder; son, Jason Kinder; grandchildren, Zachary Kinder (Sophie), Kyle Kinder (Meredith), and Austin Montgomery (Alyssa); brothers, Charles Dossett (Connie), John Dossett (Lisa) and Thomas Dosset.
Services for Mary Jo will be held at Boultinghouse Funeral Home, 527 Main St., Rockport, IN 47635 on Friday February 6, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Steve Wills officiating. Burial will take place after at Shiloh Cemetery in Rockport.
Visitation will take place at the funeral home Friday February 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
