Monday, September 19th the South Spencer Rebels soccer team took on the Forest Park Rangers in Reo. The South Spencer boys had something to say during their battle with PAC and post-season rival Forest Park early last week. Considered a likely underdog in the upcoming sectional, the Rebels gave the favored and Class A No. 9 ranked Rangers a run for their money before eventually dropping a 3-1 decision last Monday night in Reo.
Sports Editor, Brian Bohne caught up with Rebel coach, John Bell for a few words after the game. “I told the guys that they just showed me they could play with the No. 9 team in the state in 1A. They’re not that far off from them,” said the Rebel boss. “Yeah, they possessed the ball more, but we had our chances. We just have to finish better.”
