Three vehicles involved in rear-end collision

Jonathan McManaway, 25, of Hawesville, KY, was stopped in traffic on SR 66 near Rockport, waiting for a car two vehicles in front of him to make a left hand turn onto CR 350 W, when his 2010 Ford Focus was struck from behind by a 2013 Dodge Dart driven by 32-year-old Ryan Ernst of Solsberry. The impact pushed McManaway’s car into the trailer hitch attached to a 2016 Chevy Silverado driven by 57-year-old Donald Gelding of Hardinsburg, KY. Gelding told authorities he had trouble seeing McManaway’s car due to the glare of the sun. McManaway’s passenger experienced abdominal pain but advised she would seek treatment at the hospital on her own. No other injuries were reported in the December 1, 3:10 p.m. accident, but total damages were estimated between $5,000-10,000.

Ran off road

Arthur Marksbury, 57, of Richland, was pulling off the roadway on Division Street in Richland and into his side yard when he struck a utility pole guy wire. The wire began to shake violently, causing the utility pole to break at its base and fall over and strike a parked car in Marksbury’s driveway. A second utility pole attached to the power line was also damaged. Total damage in the December 3, 4:40 p.m. accident was estimated between $10,000-25,000.
